We have butterflies!!!!! They emerged over the weekend and the children had fun watching them fly around in the net. We had 8 butterflies in total. We released them on Wednesday before the rain. What a fun experience it was!! Thank you to Liza for taking Everlee this past weekend. Did you know that she went for a bike ride and went to her grandma's house. What fun! Liza was our last child to take home Everlee. It was so much fun to hear about all the adventures Tilly the turtle and Everlee the bee had with all of you!! Thank you for taking the time to write in our book and print out pictures for our book. We moved our milkshake Monday to milkshake Wednesday. We taught the children how to make milkshakes with ice cream, milk and the blender. They were delicious! This week we completed simple addition problems and reviewed how to write numbers and letters and started simple subtraction on Friday. We learned about Our Lady of Lourdes and Saint Bernadette and how the Blessed Mother appeared to her 18 times at Lourdes, France. We worked on beginning and middle sounds. We started to sound out CVC words. We had a red, white and blue day on Thursday by making a USA star banner and painting a flag. We read a Memorial Day story and sang patriotic songs too! We have been busy practicing for Formal Promotion and our Outdoor May Crowning. Such busy days. If anyone has a small baby pool or pretend fishing poles we could borrow for beach day could you please email me. Also, please have your child send in a beach towel they could keep in class starting Tuesday May 27. If weather cooperates we can do some lessons outside. Our lima beans plants are not doing that great probably because of the cold and we have not had much sun in our window. Hopefully it will get warmer and they will perk up! God bless everyone this Memorial day, Mrs. McNulty
